The Recovery Capacity Continuum
Recovery is more than stopping the addictive behavior. Sobriety opens the door, but deeper recovery reveals what addiction had been helping us manage: shame, anxiety, fear, self-judgment, old wounds, and the exhausting effort to hold life together. The Recovery Capacity Continuum names the movement from survival and self-management toward greater awareness, healing, capacity, CORE Energy, and freedom. As capacity increases, we begin to respond instead of react, trust ourselves more deeply, and live from choice rather than control.
