IFS Coaches Lab

A Consultation & Practice Group for IFS-Trained Coaches

The IFS Coaches Lab is a small, supportive consultation group for IFS-trained coaches who want to deepen their skill, confidence, and Self-leadership in applying the IFS model in coaching. Together, we explore the art of staying Self-led as a coach, providing structure and support while honoring the pace and wisdom of each client’s system.

The Questions We Explore

How do I integrate IFS into coaching without slipping into therapy?

  • Where are the boundaries between coaching and therapy when using the IFS model?

  • How do I keep parts exploration anchored in a client’s objectives - without getting lost in the fascination of the inner world?

These are exactly the questions at the heart of the Coaches Lab.

"Lab sessions have been extremely helpful for me to learn the difference between coaching and therapy using IFS. The practice sessions provided a way for me to experiment and learn in a supportive environment, and the feedback I received from Bill and my fellow labmates was invaluable. In every session, I learned a nugget that I could apply in my practice with clients, and I have become more confident and courageous as a result. I'm more Self-led and a better IFS coach because of the Lab and Bill's support and guidance. If you're curious about joining one of Bill's groups, don't hesitate!"

”The IFS Coaches Lab has been an invaluable experience for me. Bill fosters a supportive, non-judgmental environment where real learning and growth happen. I’ve gained so much confidence and clarity in my IFS practice.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • These groups are for people who are ready to do meaningful inner work in a supportive, compassionate environment. Each group is designed for a specific audience (Women, Men, Mixed, or Practitioners), so you’ll be surrounded by people who share similar experiences and goals.

The IFS Coaches Lab is designed to support coaches who are IFS-trained and will help you learn about and practice IFS to help your clients.

  • Sessions typically include guided IFS practices, opportunities to share and process, and space to learn from the experiences of others. You’ll leave each session with greater clarity, new tools, and the encouragement of your group.

  • Each group meets three times a month for 90 minutes. Beyond that, your only “homework” is paying attention to your own inner experience between sessions.

  • Yes. Sessions are recorded and made available to group members for a limited time only. This way, you can revisit a session if you miss it — while still protecting confidentiality.

Prospective group members who wish to view a recorded session before making the three month commitment will be granted temporary access to a non-downloadable video of a random session.

  • We co-create a set of agreements that help make the group a safe, respectful, and supportive space. These include confidentiality, listening without judgment, and speaking from your own experience.

Confidentiality - honor the other participants in the group by keeping their participation in the group and anything they say in group sessions confidential.

Sessions are recorded - sessions will be stored in a Google drive folder and will be available to participants. Prospective members may be granted temporary access to one session before joining the group.

    • When viewing or listening to a recorded session, do so in full privacy. Do not share recorded sessions with anyone else.

    • Do not screen record, screen capture,  or audio record sessions by any means.

    • If you notice I have forgotten to record, please remind me to do so.

    • I may use portions of recorded sessions limited to my voice and images for marketing purposes but participant voices and images will never be included in marketing videos, audios, or written descriptions.

Responsibility for your own experience - Please do not share advice or feedback to other participants. During sessions, before referencing something someone else in the session has shared, ask their permission. Drawing attention to the share of another can diminish the sense of safety for others in the group, even if it feels like a positive reflection. When sharing, be intentional and speak for your own experience and for your parts.

    • In this group, participants do not confront or challenge each other. To enhance learning and growth, treat all fellow participants with respect and compassion.

    • Participants do not give advice or feedback to other participants.

Be on time - I am committed to starting and ending sessions on time and ask that you arrive in sessions on time.

    • You will receive reminders with zoom links but are responsible for being here on time. Prioritize these sessions over other optional appointments and activities. Reserve the time in your calendar and limit potential distractions during sessions

    • If you know you will miss or be late for a session or plan to leave a session early, please notify me.

Honor the clock - I will use an online clock throughout the session to manage time. When time has elapsed, the timer will change color and emit an audible beep. Wrap up your share within 5 seconds of elapsed time.

Bill is coach and consultant - Bill has permission to offer guidance and coaching during sessions. This may consist of offers, observations, requests, and facilitated explorations.

You are always at choice but please remain coachable - this means you are open to be coached even if you decline my offers or requests.  As you participate in the group, consider your own safety and the safety of the group.
